St. Thomas College, Pala

Started in 1951 at Arunapuram, Palai. St. Thomas College was a great dream come true. It is one of the most prestigious college of Mahatma Gandhi University. St. Thomas has a long history of academic, cultural and sports activities. St. Thomas College is the only college with swimming pool in the whole of Mahatma Gandhi University.Athletes like Jimmy George and Thomas Chavara were product of the college.

Alphonsa College, Pala

Alphonsa College placed away from the madding crowd, by the banks of River Meenachil lies Alphonsa College, Pala, one of the premier institutions for higher education of women in the state of Kerala. Alphonsa College is a religious minority institution owned and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Pala.

The institution is at present run under the efficient stewardship of the Patron, His Excellency Mar Joseph Kallarangattu, Bishop of Pala; Though advanced in several respects, this area lacked in facilities for women’s education. Fully convinced of the fact that total development and progress of a society is possible only through the education of women, His Excellency took a bold step and started a women’s college in Pala with the support of several eminent leaders of the locality.

College of Engineering, Kidangoor

Established during the year 2000-2001 under the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE), which is a Kerala Government undertaking registered under Charitable Societies Act. Besides this college, CAPE is having, four other Engineering Colleges, located at Perumon, Vadakara, Thalassery and Thrikkaripur, and one Medical College at Kochi.

The College is affiliated to Cochin  Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and  All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The admissions are as per the list forwarded by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Kerala and functioning of the college is as per the rules and regulations formulated by the Government of Kerala and CAPE.

College of Engineering - Poonjar College of Engineering, Poonjar is established by the Institute of Human Resources Development(IHRD), A Government of Kerala Undertaking. IHRD is a pioneer educational organisation supported by Kerala Government, which has the magnificent track record of facilitating quality technical education in the state, especially in the fields of Electronics and Computer Science. It manages more than 40 institutions all over the state, including Engineering Colleges, Polytechnics, College of Applied Sciences, Regional Centers and Technical Higher Secondary Schools.

College of Engineering, Poonjar started its functioning in the academic year 2000-2001. The College is affiliated to the prestigious Cochin University of Science and Technology(CUSAT). St. Joseph's College of Engineering and Technology, Palai was established in 2002 by the Diocese of Palai. Its establishment was the fulfillment of a long cherished dream of providing facilities for higher technical education to the people of the diocese and surrounding regions.
